Comparing numbers
When comparing numbers we compare their place value. We start with the column with the highest place value. We start with column with the highest number:
Example1: 252 _____________ 348, looking at the hundred column 253 and 348 occurred; 2 is less than 3 therefore      252 < 348
Example2: 346 _______________ 336, the digit in the hundred column are the same. We e shall then look at the tens column. In the ten column, 4 is more than 3, therefore; 346 is more than 336 or346 > 336
